Races

This is my why!!

I never thought I’d call myself a runner. But here I am — crossing the finish line, heart pounding, muscles burning, and spirit soaring.
When I signed up for the Hot Chocolate 15K, I wasn't sure if I could do it. Training wasn’t always easy. Some mornings were cold, some evenings were long, and there were plenty of times when giving up seemed like the easier option. But every step forward was a promise to myself — a promise that I could be stronger than my doubts.
On race day, bundled up in my jacket and bright orange beanie, I felt the energy of every runner around me. We weren’t racing each other; we were racing our own limits. Every mile was a victory. Every breath was proof that I was alive and pushing forward.
Crossing that finish line wasn’t just about completing a race. It was about reclaiming my strength, my confidence, and my belief that I can do hard things.

If you're struggling with anxiety, know this: you're not alone. You're not broken. You're growing. And growth, though messy, is the path to freedom

There was a time when anxiety felt like a shadow I couldn’t outrun—tight chest, racing thoughts, the constant hum of “what ifs.” I used to wake up already feeling overwhelmed, unsure how I’d get through the day. Smiling on the outside, but inside, I was exhausted from carrying a fear I couldn't explain.
But over time, I realized anxiety wasn’t a life sentence—it was a signal. A sign that I needed to slow down, tune in, and begin a journey back to myself.
Healing didn’t happen overnight. It started with small, quiet decisions: learning to sit with my emotions instead of running from them, practicing deep breathing when the panic set in, journaling my thoughts to give them shape and understanding, and seeking help when I felt lost.
I began to reframe my thoughts, trading self-criticism for self-compassion. I learned to say “no” when I needed rest and “yes” when opportunities aligned with peace, not pressure.
